Airbnb calendar not syncing? 9 reasons and how to fix each one
You connected the calendars, a booking came in, and the dates are still open on the other site. Here are the usual reasons, from most to least common.
1. It just hasn't been read yet
Calendar links are not instant. Airbnb re-reads imported calendars about every 3 hours, Booking.com about every 2, and Vrbo often only once a day. Wait a few hours before deciding something is broken. See how often each site syncs.
2. The link was replaced
If you (or a tool) pressed "reset" or "generate new link" on a site, the old link stops working. Every site that imported the old link now reads nothing. Copy the new link and update it everywhere.
3. You imported the wrong listing's link
Hosts with several listings often paste room A's link into room B. Open the link in a browser: it downloads a small calendar file, and the booking dates inside should match the listing.
4. Export was set to a short window
When exporting from Airbnb, keep All future dates. A shorter window leaves later bookings out.
5. The imported calendar was removed
Changing co-hosts, managers or tools sometimes deletes imported calendars. Check Calendar → Availability → Connected calendars on Airbnb and Rates & Availability → Sync calendars on Booking.com.
6. Booking.com room type limits
Booking.com's calendar sync works for up to 20 room types, with one unit per room type. A room type with 3 units can't be synced by link.
7. The checkout day looks "open"
That is normal. In calendar files the checkout day is not a booked night, so it stays available for the next guest's check-in.
8. Cancelled dates stay blocked
This is an "echo": site A sends a booking to site B, B passes it back to A, and after the guest cancels, the copy keeps the nights closed. Each site should receive every booking except its own. Axorooms builds a separate link for each site for exactly this reason.
9. The site stopped accepting the link
Sometimes a site disables an imported link after repeated errors and doesn't tell you. Look for warnings next to the imported calendar, delete it and add it again.
