Running a homestay on Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda and MakeMyTrip: one calendar for all
Most homestays in India don't rely on one booking site. A typical mix is Airbnb, Booking.com and Agoda, a few MakeMyTrip or Goibibo bookings, and plenty of guests who call or message on WhatsApp. Keeping all of that on one calendar is what stops double bookings.
Sites with calendar links
Airbnb, Booking.com and Agoda all offer calendar links: an export link with their bookings, and an import setting that accepts other calendars. Connect these to one calendar and they keep each other up to date automatically.
- Airbnb: Listings → Calendar → Availability → Connected calendars.
- Booking.com: Extranet → Rates & Availability → Sync calendars.
- Agoda: YCS (ycs.agoda.com) or the Agoda Homes app → Calendar → Calendar sync / iCal.
Sites without calendar links
At the time of writing, MakeMyTrip and Goibibo don't give hosts a calendar link, so they can't be synced this way. Keep it manual but disciplined: when a MakeMyTrip booking arrives, add it straight away to your main calendar so every other site closes those nights; and when a night sells elsewhere, close it on MakeMyTrip.
Walk-ins, phone and WhatsApp bookings
These are invisible to every site until you record them. Add each one as a direct booking in the same calendar that feeds your links — the dates then close on Airbnb, Booking.com and Agoda on their next read.
Plan for peak season
Diwali, Christmas to New Year, long weekends and summer in the hills bring last-minute demand — exactly when the few-hour gap of calendar links matters most. In peak weeks, ask for a day's notice before check-in, and close your last free night on the other sites yourself as soon as it sells.
One place for all of it
Axorooms (available in Hindi and English) keeps Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda and 28 more sites on one calendar, lets you add walk-in and phone bookings in two taps, and alerts you to any overlap. It's free for 5 listings.
